The squid rings were cooked perfectly (not rubbery at all), and the dish the epitome of French cooking: simple, balanced and well executed so that each flavour could be tasted.
Again this cheese fondue cooked with wine and herbs is a simple French dish and transported us back to living in France, to a brasserie in a quiet coin de Paris.
The duck with orange, dish, served with mashed potato and spinach was divine. The orange sauce had an appropriate consistency and flavour, the breast was well cooked – crisp on the outside and still blushing inside, in short: our idea of perfect french cuisine.
Overall we were thoroughly impressed by both the service and the quality of the cuisine: unpretentious, good quality and authentic. Charles’ team of staff demonstrate knowledge and a passion for the food and wines they serve as well as the restaurant itself – one of the reasons we believe, why it has been and continues to be a quiet success.
